Kojo Bonsu, a potential NDC flagbearer, has conceded defeat to former President John Dramani Mahama in the party's ongoing primary process.

Although voting is long over, the presidential election's ballot counting and collation are still ongoing. Election officials anticipate finishing the process completely by 10 o'clock.

The former mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu, said on Facebook that he had called John Mahama to congratulate him on winning the presidential primary by a wide margin.

John Mahama's camp forecasts at least a 98% victory in the election, while the party has yet to formally disclose polling results.

"I called H.E. John Dramani Mahama to congratulate him on the overwhelming win. He wrote in a Facebook post above, "I will continue to serve the NDC party regardless of the outcome of this election, just as I've said throughout my campaign.

In the NDC presidential primaries, Kojo Bonsu was John Mahama's lone opponent when Dr. Kwabena Duffour, a former finance minister, abruptly withdrew on Friday, citing vote irregularities.

According to the results so far, former president John Mahama won practically all of the electorates.
