Two motorbike snatchers were beaten to pulp at Gornikorpe in the Volta Region - CastinoStudiosgh

Robbery cases in the Akatsi District have been on the rise in recent times with the youth resorting to overnight riches.

Two robbers were beaten to a pulp after they were arrested by some irate youth of Gornikorpe in the Volta Region.

They were accused of snatching a motorcycle at a gunpoint on the Akatsi Gbaflome-Ziope road.

The robbers had charted the motorbike to Ziope only to seize the bike and bolted with it in the middle of the journey.

It took the intervention of some good Samaritans who arrived at the scene to raise the alarm. 

They quickly called close friends in nearby villages for surveillance.  

It was not too long before the two motor snatchers were caught at Gornikorpe and the motorbike retrieved.

The youth incensed by the spate of robbery cases beat the duo. 

It took the intervention of the Akatsi Police who rescued the robbers from being lynched.

The two robbers are currently battling for their lives in the hospital.
