Ghana’s entertainment and political space has once again collided in controversy, this time involving celebrated dancehall star Shatta Wale and the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer.

A youth advocacy group, Youth for Accountable Governance (YAG), has publicly accused the EOCO boss of deliberately misleading Ghanaians about Shatta Wale’s luxurious yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus. The group insists that allegations suggesting the vehicle was stolen or linked to international crime are completely false and a calculated smear campaign.

In a strongly worded statement released on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the youth group alleged that Mr. Archer abused his office and manipulated the media to project a misleading story about the artiste’s vehicle.

According to YAG:

“Verified documents show beyond doubt that the Lamborghini Urus owned by Shatta Wale is not stolen. Claims of FBI involvement or criminal activity tied to the car are fabricated.”

The group went further to suggest that Raymond Archer personally contacted the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to create a damaging narrative against the musician.

Vehicle History Reports Confirm Car’s Legitimacy

Independent checks with globally recognized vehicle history services Carfax and Bumper confirm that Shatta Wale’s yellow Lamborghini Urus, with VIN ZPBCA1ZL7KLA01914, has a clean record.

• Ownership history: Verified and legitimate.

• Accident or theft records: None reported.

• Export details: Carfax confirms that the vehicle was legally exported from the U.S. and imported into Ghana by a licensed exporter.

These findings directly contradict earlier media reports and statements from EOCO suggesting otherwise.

False Allegations Against Kwabena Adu-Boahene

The group also condemned attempts to drag former National Signals Bureau (NSB) boss Kwabena Adu-Boahene into the controversy.

YAG argued that:

• Archer allegedly recruited bloggers, YouTubers, and media commentators to spread unverified claims.

• Adu-Boahene has no link to Shatta Wale or the Lamborghini.

• The allegations represent an organized smear campaign targeting innocent individuals.

This, according to the youth group, is a gross abuse of power and a clear violation of professional ethics expected from EOCO’s leadership.

The controversy has sparked wider concerns about the integrity of EOCO under Raymond Archer’s leadership.

YAG maintains that:

• EOCO was established to protect Ghanaians from economic and organized crime, not to run smear campaigns.

• The actions of Archer erode public trust in national institutions.

• There is an urgent need for government intervention to investigate EOCO’s handling of this case.

The Youth for Accountable Governance urged government agencies, journalists, and media platforms to:

1. Verify facts before publishing sensitive stories.

2. Avoid being used as tools of defamation.

3. Uphold the principles of justice and transparency.

The group stressed that Ghana’s institutions must remain neutral and resist being weaponized for political or personal vendettas.

The youth group concluded by reaffirming its stance on accountability and justice:

• Shatta Wale’s reputation should not be tarnished based on fabricated claims.

• Kwabena Adu-Boahene must not be linked to a controversy in which he has no involvement.

• EOCO must refocus on its core mandate; fighting genuine cases of organized crime.

YAG further emphasized:

“Ghana deserves institutions that operate with integrity. The abuse of power for personal gain cannot and must not be tolerated.”

The Shatta Wale Lamborghini saga has now become more than just a celebrity headline; it is a test of accountability, truth, and institutional credibility in Ghana.

As investigations continue, Ghanaians will be watching closely to see whether government leadership holds EOCO accountable and ensures that public officials serve with transparency, not deception.

For now, one fact remains clear: Carfax and Bumper reports confirm Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini Urus is genuine and not stolen.
