Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale was arrested yesterday at 8:59 pm following his fake gunshot attack.
“He has been arrested to assist the police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic,” stated the report.
Kwadjo Owusu Koranteng and Eric Venator, according to police reports, circulated false information with regards to Shatta Wale’s safety to cause fear and panic and were also apprehended.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the widely reported gunshot attack on Shatta Wale on Monday, October 18, 2021, was a prank.
According to Shatta Wale, he undertook this initiative due to a prophecy by one Bishop Stephen Akwesi who predicted his death.
The prophet, however, was picked up by the police in the early hours of Tuesday, October 19, to help in the investigations.
Meanwhile, the police service has advised the citizens against publishing false information capable of disturbing the peace of the country.
