Shatta Wale breaks silence on why he couldn’t attend Ghana Party In The Park UK - CastinoStudiosgh

Shatta Wale has shared his side of the story about his absence at the 2022 edition of the ‘Ghana Party in the Park’ in the UK.

The event, which took place at London’s Trent Park on Saturday, July 16, 2022, saw not just Shatta Wale but Kofi Kinaata and Nigeria’s Mayorkun fail to appear as earlier advertised.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Shatta Wale revealed that the organizers reneged on some agreements.

“I wanted it to be a GOG in conjunction with Akwaaba UK. So the whole title was going to be ‘Akwaaba UK in conjunction with Shatta Movement GOG experience’ and we accepted that.” He continued;

“Secondly, I told him that he should try and get visas for my team, my team is big but we came to a conclusion where I could just take four of them with me including me making five, and we agreed on that too. What I told him basically and vividly was that it’s time we Ghanaians start supporting our industry gatekeepers and coaches.

This is a show that I would want to come and perform for him for free, I don’t want to charge him any money. I want him to take all the money that he’s going to make from the show and just make sure to get these two things done for me,” said Shatta.

He explained further that while he was waiting for confirmation on his demands, he saw a flyer advertising him as the headline act of the event.

“I was there and I saw a flyer featuring a whole of artists including my information and I called him and told him this isn’t what we spoke about. When I was in America, there was no team with me, I explained to you vividly how you guys have organized the show for a long time and this is how I want us to go because I have never been to a Ghana party in the park before and this is going to be my first time and people are going to be excited about it and he was like it was his team and he forgot about that side…,” he stated.

The Shatta Movement boss reveals that as of Thursday, July, 14, he was still asking for visas from Dennis for his 4-member team which was agreed on during negotiations.

“I was like okay then let's think of my team and for my visas and the past three weeks I’ve been asking Dennis when my team will get their visas because I need the team to be there with me so we can have a beautiful show.

Could you believe that, after the back and forth, the Thursday I came to you and left your studio, that was the last time I called him and told him to try and make this thing possible because I can’t leave Ghana without my team,” he asked?
