Tragic Fire on Bus Carrying Young Athletes from Schools Sports Festival

A devastating incident unfolded as a bus, transporting young athletes who were part of the 47th-second cycle Schools and Colleges Inter-Zonal Sports Festival held in Sogakope, suddenly caught fire in Akatsi.  This group of students and coaches had been proudly representing the Lower Mid-South Zone at the festival.

The ill-fated bus, which was the property of Akatsi Senior High Technical School, was tragically consumed by the flames. 


This unfortunate event transpired at the Akatsi bye-pass, located near the old Agbedrafor point 2.


The fire raged mercilessly, reducing all the personal belongings of the students and coaches to ashes, leaving nothing recognizable in its wake. 



Thankfully, amid the chaos and devastation, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities.

As the community grapples with the aftermath of this shocking incident, investigations are currently in progress to determine the exact cause of the fire. 


The athletes, their families, and the entire community are left in a state of shock and mourning as they come to terms with this tragic event.
