His prophecy, Airbus Bribery Scandal: OSP Clears John Mahama from Any Acts of Corruption claims that John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will emerge victorious, has not been received well by some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Rev. Owusu-Bempah is standing firm, however, insisting that his prediction is not just a speculative guess but a divine revelation.

Rev. Owusu-Bempah’s prophecy about Mahama has caused ripples across political and social platforms, particularly among NPP members. Notably, some party officials, including Deputy Communications Director Ernest Owusu-Bempah and Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, have been vocal in their opposition.

During an interview on Okay FM with host Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, Rev. Owusu-Bempah directly responded to the criticisms from these NPP members, notably addressing their accusations and challenges.

Abronye DC had previously mocked Rev. Owusu-Bempah's prophecy, going so far as to issue a challenge that anyone claiming the NDC would win should be willing to bet with a car. Additionally, Ernest Owusu-Bempah took the criticism a step further, questioning the existence of God if the NPP were to lose the elections.

In response, Rev. Owusu-Bempah firmly stood his ground, dismissing the criticisms from both men. “Tell Abronye the elections are over, and the NPP lost, so forget about the car bet. I doubt he has more than five cars,” he quipped.

He continued with a cautionary message to his critics, warning them not to provoke him or risk regretting their actions.

In addressing Ernest Owusu-Bempah’s criticisms, Rev. Owusu-Bempah emphasized that his prophecy was based on a divine message and not personal opinion.

“Tell Ernest Owusu-Bempah to be quiet. I have no issue with him; I spoke from divine revelation,” the pastor stated. He also dismissed Ernest Owusu-Bempah's spiritual qualifications, asserting that the latter was not on the same level as him spiritually, adding, "Is God only for the NPP?”

This situation arose shortly after Rev. Owusu-Bempah was seen praying for John Mahama during a meeting between the NDC and members of the clergy on October 1, 2024.

In that meeting, he remarked on Mahama’s kind heart, claiming it would attract God’s favor and lead to his eventual reelection.

This act has led to a mixture of reactions across social media, with many questioning why a pastor who has historically been affiliated with the NPP would now support the NDC's candidate.

Some have even speculated that this shift could have broader implications for his influence within political and religious circles.

The prophecy and the following reactions have drawn a wide range of opinions, both from political figures and the general public.

On social media, users have debated whether Rev. Owusu-Bempah’s prophecy carries weight, with some calling into question the motives behind his statement.

For a long time, the pastor has been seen as a spiritual ally to the NPP, leading to shock among his followers and critics alike.

Supporters of Mahama and the NDC have been quick to seize upon the prophecy, viewing it as a divine endorsement of their candidate. Meanwhile, some NPP supporters, angered by the pastor’s words, have sought to discredit him by questioning his loyalty and his spiritual credibility.

Rev. Owusu-Bempah is not new to the intersection of religion and politics in Ghana. Over the years, he has gained a reputation for making bold prophecies about elections, political figures, and national events.

His influence extends beyond the pulpit, with many politicians seeking his spiritual guidance and blessings ahead of major political events.

However, this particular prophecy marks a significant moment in his career, as it seemingly breaks from his past association with the NPP. His support of Mahama has left many wondering whether this signals a broader shift in his political alliances or if this is simply a reflection of his spiritual discernment.

Despite the backlash, Rev. Owusu-Bempah has remained resolute, cautioning his critics within the NPP to exercise restraint in their attacks.

He emphasized that his prophecy was rooted in divine guidance and should not be dismissed lightly. He urged those who disagreed with him to avoid escalating tensions, warning that they may regret challenging his spiritual insights.

To conclude with, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah's prophecy about John Mahama winning the 2024 general elections has undoubtedly stirred the political pot in Ghana. As a spiritual leader with significant influence, his words carry weight, particularly within the politically charged atmosphere leading up to the elections. While his critics within the NPP have been vocal, Rev. Owusu-Bempah’s steadfast defense of his prophecy demonstrates his confidence in the divine message he claims to have received. As the election draws nearer, it remains to be seen how this prophecy will impact both his reputation and the political landscape in Ghana.
