| Black Stars: Otto Addo's debut match saw Nigeria defeat Ghana 2-1 |
Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 in their first friendly match of the March international break in an exciting affair that took place on a Friday afternoon in Marrakesh. Otto Addo made his debut as the Ghanaian national team's head coach in this historic match; however, the Black Stars were disappointed as the Super Eagles prevailed and halted their lengthy winning streak in all competitions.

Both teams came out strong and played really well as the game began. Nigeria's first goal was scored in the 38th minute by Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers, who took advantage of a penalty kick to set the tone. Nigeria dominated the first forty-five minutes of play and held a lead into halftime despite a heroic effort by the Black Stars.
Play resumed, and Tariq Lamptey and Ebenezer Annan were added by Otto Addo to the Ghanaian squad in an attempt to bring new life. But just 11 minutes into the second half, Jerome Opoku was sent out, giving Ghana a numerical disadvantage and halting their momentum.
As the game went on, Nigeria took advantage of their chances, and in the 84th minute, Alex Iwobi skillfully set up Ademola Lookman of Atalanta to increase their lead. Even after Jordan Ayew's late penalty kick for Ghana, the Super Eagles held strong to earn a well-earned victory.

Otto Addo's time as the Black Stars' head coach came to an end with a final whistle, but it was also a melancholy start. Even though Ghana lost to Nigeria, it also taught them important lessons and gave them great perspective going into their next encounter on March 26 against Uganda.
